Abstract

This paper examines the principles of medical planning with consideration of the formal planning tool ‘the Estimate’. It describes a generic structure for the medical aspects of the Estimate. The paper also shows how military medical planning must be tightly linked to wider general staff planning processes and how staff analyses lead to a formal medical plan.
