Lt Gen Sir Alexander Drummond KBE CB QHS was Director General of the Army Medical Services from 1956 to 1961.1 He was a driving force behind continuous improvements in military healthcare and the professional development of junior medical officers and published academic papers himself.2 The Drummond Foundation was instituted with funds given to the Royal Army Medical Corps by Lady Drummond in memory of her husband3 and these were incorporated into the RAMC Charity funds in 2008.
