Primary care for the UK Armed Forces is delivered by Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC). DPHC is a training organisation that supports General Practice Specialist Trainees (GPSTs) and prespecialist training doctors, while also assisting General Duties Medical Officers (GDMOs) in providing primary care services. For both groups, consultation observation and feedback are crucial for their clinical supervision and formative development, allowing them to become more aware of their knowledge gaps and enhance their communication skills.1 For GPSTs, direct and recorded consultation observation is more convenient because they are colocated with their GP trainer. For GDMOs, this presents more challenges since they often work remotely and are mobile, sometimes operating outside of the UK, making supervision more difficult.
