The Evolution Of Casualty Evacuation In The British Army In The 20th Century (Part 3) – 1945 To Present
Abstract
This is the third in a series of papers describing the evolution of the British casualty evacuation chain during the 20th century. This period was dominated by the threat of war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in Central Europe. The Suez Crisis in 1956, the Falklands War in 1982, the Gulf War in 1991 and events in the Balkans during the 1990s demonstrated the requirement for a flexible system for medical support to the UK Armed Forces.
