BATLS and MIMMS
As for level 8 but practitioner requires distant supervision8–12 years which includes five undergraduate medical training. They have started 1 year of specialist PHEM training.
PHEC team
6Registered doctor, nurse or paramedic
Level 5 plus at least 2-year prehospital care experience
Diploma in Immediate Medical Care (DipIMC). Is an independent prescriber or is following PGDs.
BATLS and MIMMS
ALS
Use of freeze-dried plasma (potentially under Patient Group Direction)
Ketamine-assisted procedures in the field
Specifically, not prehospital anaesthesia
Supraglottic airway devices in cardiac or respiratory arrest
Minimum of 5 years which includes 3-year degree course and 2 years of postgraduate experience
5Registered doctor, nurse or paramedic
Interest in prehospital care but minimal experience
Prehospital Emergency Care course (PHEC course) or equivalent
BATLS
ALS intravenous/intraosseous access, resuscitation drugs
Use of freeze-dried plasma (potentially under Patient Group Direction)
Supraglottic airway devices in cardiac or respiratory arrest
Intravenous morphine
Basic Road Traffic Collision (RTC) management
Minimum of 3 years for paramedics, 4 years for nurses and 6 years for doctors who will have completed medical school and Foundation Year training
